Gamma Calibration

Reading screen information…DPR —— bit Browser report

A visual reference for gamma adjustment

Gamma patterns compare a fine spatial mixture with a solid reference tone. They can help you notice a broad tonal mismatch while keeping the limits of a visual comparison in view.

Using the matching pattern

View the stripe comparison at 100% browser zoom and an appropriate distance so the fine pattern blends together. Scaling, sharpening and the display's pixel arrangement can change the result. Compare more than one reference patch before adjusting a setting.

Shadows and highlights

After a tonal adjustment, revisit near-black and near-white detail. Making one reference look closer can also hide detail elsewhere in the image. Keep a record of your starting settings and make small, reversible changes while comparing normal content.

A reference is not a calibration report

The pattern uses calculated reference values; it does not measure the display's emitted luminance or complete transfer function. A visual match is influenced by viewing conditions and rendering. Use suitable measurements when a particular gamma or transfer-function target is required.

How to run the test

View the stripe-matching pattern at 100% zoom under consistent lighting. A visual match does not replace measured calibration.

  1. Disable dynamic contrast and additional enhancement.

  2. Compare tonal levels across the curves.

  3. Return to the same viewing conditions after adjustments.

Patterns support visual inspection. Quantitative color accuracy, brightness, gamut coverage and response time require appropriate instruments and methods.

Frequently asked questions

Can this website automatically certify my screen?

No. It provides display test patterns and browser information. Screen anomalies that persist at the same position need visual inspection and, when needed, professional assessment.

Can I use a phone, tablet or TV?

Open the patterns and guides for your device. True full screen and touch depend on the browser; an immersive page preview remains available when full screen is unsupported.

Do I need to install software or upload data?

No installation is needed. Patterns, calculations and interactions run locally in your browser; theme preferences stay on your device.

What should I do if I notice a problem?

Rule out dust, reflections and display settings. Repeat under the same conditions, photograph defects that remain in the same screen position and check the device warranty policy.
