Display P3 in a browser

These patterns compare colors requested in sRGB and Display P3. They help you explore the browser's wide-color path without claiming to measure how much of a color gamut your display covers.

Syntax and output support

A browser can understand Display P3 color syntax while the active output path still limits the colors that reach the display. The capability hints and the visible pattern answer different questions. Check both, and keep the operating-system profile and browser consistent when making comparisons.

Comparing colors

Look at the paired patches and gradients rather than assuming that a more vivid patch is more accurate. Some requested colors may be mapped into the available output gamut. The appearance of a boundary or a hidden difference is not a reliable percentage measurement of gamut coverage.

Display P3 and cinema P3

Display P3 is a web color space and should not be treated as a cinema calibration mode simply because both names contain P3. This page requests browser colors; it does not switch the monitor into a particular hardware mode. Use the device's own settings and measurements for a specified delivery target.

How to run the test

Visible differences on one screen cannot measure P3 coverage.

  1. Check that the browser supports wide-gamut CSS syntax.

  2. Compare patches and gradients visually.

  3. Treat capability hints and hardware specifications as different information.

Patterns support visual inspection. Quantitative color accuracy, brightness, gamut coverage and response time require appropriate instruments and methods.

Frequently asked questions

Can this website automatically certify my screen?

No. It provides display test patterns and browser information. Screen anomalies that persist at the same position need visual inspection and, when needed, professional assessment.

Can I use a phone, tablet or TV?

Open the patterns and guides for your device. True full screen and touch depend on the browser; an immersive page preview remains available when full screen is unsupported.

Do I need to install software or upload data?

No installation is needed. Patterns, calculations and interactions run locally in your browser; theme preferences stay on your device.

What should I do if I notice a problem?

Rule out dust, reflections and display settings. Repeat under the same conditions, photograph defects that remain in the same screen position and check the device warranty policy.
